The Brother MFC-9130CW is the youngest of three LED-based multifunction printers (MFPs) introduced by the business recently. The MFC-9130CW has the ability to print, copy, scan, and fax. It allows you to fax from your computer (PC Fax) or as a standalone machine without the need for a computer, using a USB flash drive. It has a 35-page automated document feeder (ADF) for copying, scanning, or faxing multi-page documents up to legal size unattended. It does not enable duplex scanning, copying, or faxing; to scan two-sided documents, you must feed them side by side, one page at a time. Except for a swept-back front panel with a 3.7-inch color touch screen, the computer is two-toned (off-white and gray). The lighted numerical keypad to the right of the touch screen appears only when you select Fax or another data entry function. The Start/Stop button is the sole physical button visible. As a light source, this device employs LEDs rather than lasers. LED printers are often smaller than their laser counterparts, and this device is no exception: It’s relatively small, measuring 16.1 by 16.1 by 19 inches (HWD) and weighs 49.6 pounds. The paper capacity is 250 sheets, with an additional one-page manual feed slot. The MFC-9130CW can be connected to a PC by USB or to a network through Ethernet or WiFi. It supports Wi-Fi direct, which enables direct printing between compatible devices without the requirement for a WiFi network. For printing from mobile devices, it is compatible with Apple AirPrint, Brother iPrint&Scan, Google Cloud Print, and Cortado WorkPlace. I tested it over an Ethernet connection with the drivers loaded on a Windows Vista PC.
