Brother MFC-J5330DW Manual (User Guide & Setup Guide)

The Brother MFC-J5330DW may appear to be a standard multifunction printer, but it has more than a few tricks up its sleeve. To begin with, this machine can also print on A3. We can tell that this machine is geared at the busy small to medium business user because of its deep 250-page capacity paper tray, speedy duplex (two-sided) print rates, fax capability, and 50-page ADF (automatic document feeder). It’s not a home printer, so you won’t find consumer-friendly features like an SD card slot or NFC for connecting a mobile device, but it does include Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity in addition to the standard square USB connector. This model is a well-specified inkjet with a pretty high print resolution of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi – which makes it quite good at printing photos on photo paper – and a somewhat lower scan resolution of 2,400 x 1,200 dpi. The ability to load A3 paper one sheet at a time is a huge plus, allowing you to print full-color A3 posters or A4 booklets. We wouldn’t mind if the MFC-J5330DW was just an A4 multifunction printer that took up a little more desk space. However, the fact that it can accept A3 paper places it in a completely distinct category. Because A4 sheets may be loaded into the tray in portrait orientation, the drawer does not protrude uncomfortably as it does on most A4 printers. Alternatively, you can extend the tray and load it with 250 sheets of A3 paper. The scanner bed, on the other hand, is only A4. The J5330DW is an inkjet printer that accepts four cartridges via a front flap. The top half of the printer opens to allow access to the printer heads as well as the Ethernet and USB wires. Brother has placed these ports on the inside, with the wires exiting out the rear, presumably to prevent users from unplugging the cords accidently. As previously stated, the machine has a 50-page ADF on top for lining up scanning or copying operations, as well as a single document feed tray at the back for envelopes, headed paper, and the like. The control panel is a small, but very functional, color touchscreen. It swivels up for easy access and has a number keypad with firm buttons.
