Epson ET-7700 Manual (User Guide & Installation)

The Epson ET-7700, an inkjet model, comes equipped with the usual features that can be found in an all-in-one. In addition, this printer has another peculiarity. And in is that instead of using cartridges, it uses the EcoTank system, which is based on large ink tanks that are filled with the ink bottles that are included. When you check the spec box below, you can see that this version weighs 8 kilos. This tells us that we are facing a somewhat heavy printer and larger than usual. The positive part is that the structure has been achieved to be quite compact. The “chassis” is built-in resistant plastic material and comes completely in black, which serves so that the footprints are not very noticeable when we spend a while manipulating it. On the top of this printer, apart from the document cover that protects the scanner, you can see a feed slot, where you can load a cut sheet of any paper that is compatible. If we look now at the front, we have on the left a reader for SD memory cards (it also supports SDHC, SDXC) and in the lower area a USB port to print from an external hard drive. The central module (which can be lifted) of this Epson ET-7700 printer is reserved for a 6.8 cm color LCD screen, on which menus and messages are displayed. This panel is surrounded by different buttons: to turn the device on and off, enter the home screen, select the number of pages we want to print, return to the previous screen, start a print or copy, or the typical controls to select a menu and scroll through it. Lower down are the two cassettes or paper sources. The one closest to the bottom edge can hold A4 sheets (up to 100), while the one at the top can be loaded with up to 20 photo papers. There is also a practical tray for CDs or DVDs to print labels. As you can imagine, this whole set of trays is a bit “tight”, so do not be surprised that at first (until you get used to it) it causes you some confusion. And that we have not told you yet, that the output tray is just below the control panel, to make things more complicated. To the far right are the 5 ink tanks, with their respective panels, which will let us see the level of ink that remains. It must be said that the quality of this Epson ET-7700 multifunction when printing photos is excellent. You will get high-quality results, which can last no less than 300 years in a photo album. Not surprisingly, the resolution stands at 5,760 x 1,440 dpi. Regarding speed, although in this type of printer it is a factor not as decisive as the print quality, it should be noted that if we stick to what the Japanese brand reports closely, after a minute we will have printed about 32 pages, regardless of whether we are doing it in black and white, or in color. Note that it can also print borderless and double-sided (A4) automatically.
