Epson PictureMate Dash PM 260 Manual (Installation Guide)

The Epson PictureMate Dash is the entry-level model in Epson’s 2007 PictureMate snapshot printer line update. We had high hopes when we played with the printer: it’s packed with amazing features, it’s simple to use, and it outperformed the competition in speed tests. One (and this is a major but), the picture quality was really poor. If you want the most features in a snapshot printer, this is the one to choose—just keep in mind that you won’t get the greatest prints available. It is 13.6 inches broad, 9.1 inches deep, and 8.7 inches tall, weighing only 5.3 pounds. Although the all-silver exterior has been replaced with a white-and-dark-gray exterior, it keeps the high-tech picnic basket style with a rotating handle and cover. The lid opens to display the control panel and also functions as a picture paper input support. A front panel opens to capture prints. The enormous 3.6-inch LCD that flips up is a significant advance over last year’s PictureMate series. This is bigger than the LCD on last year’s high-end model, the Flash. The onboard control panel has a menu button, four direction keys, and an OK button for menu navigation, a zoom button, a thumbnail display key, and stop and start buttons. Two memory card slots are located on the front and accommodate most major varieties, however some will necessitate the use of an adaptor (not included). The printer also has a USB connector on the rear for connecting PictBridge devices, storage drives, and an optional Bluetooth adapter. Because the printer is compact, turning it around to access the USB port is simple, but it would be more handy to have it on the front of the printer. The PictureMate Dash comes with enough ink and paper to make about 20 4×6 prints. It prints in four colors and utilizes a single big cartridge that fits into a slot on the back of the printer. In print packs, paper and ink are offered combined, with the amount of ink calibrated for the amount of paper. Epson paper is available in both glossy and matte finishes. The glossy bundle has 150 sheets of paper, while the matte pack contains 100 sheets.
