The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-6590 is an improvement over most small business color inkjet multifunction (MFP) printers. It’s intended for a workgroup or department, and it has various enhanced features. After all, printers that service a large number of people get a lot more use than a device designed for one or two employees. One such feature is duty cycle, which Epson lists at 75,000 pages per month, but the recommended monthly volume is 5,000 pages per month, like with other duty cycle estimations. Nonetheless, that’s a whole case (ten reams) of paper. If you’re wondering how frequently you should replace the paper tray given that volume, the answer is—not very often. The WF-6590 comes included with a 500-sheet capacity paper drawer. An extra rear paper feed provides an additional 80-sheet capacity for thicker paper material. But there’s no use in purchasing a high-speed, high-capacity MFP if you don’t use its functions. If your company prints a lot, or if you wish to keep a variety of paper types on hand, you may add one or two more 500-sheet paper trays to the WF-6590, for a total paper capacity of little more than three reams. The extra paper trays enhance versatility by allowing you to keep blank paper in one, letterhead in another, and a different type of paper—such as checks or documents you commonly print—in the third. There is no need to replace the paper in the primary input stream on a regular basis. The printer may be connected in a variety of ways. A USB port, like those found on most printers and multifunction printers, allows for direct connection to a computer. Wi-Fi Direct also allows for a direct connection to a computer or a smart mobile device. If your mobile device supports NFC (Near Field Communication), you may print from it.
