The Epson Expression Premium XP-6000 Small-in-One Printer is a powerful tiny entry-level all-in-one inkjet printer ideal for light-duty printing needs in homes and small offices. This is a photo-focused printer that can print huge, borderless photographs. The Canon model’s more comprehensive feature set and cheaper ink costs, on the other hand, more than justify its higher list price. However, if you just need a basic, low-cost AIO for light-duty use in your home office, this is a good option. The dimensions are 5.6 by 13.7 by 19.8 inches (HWD) and the weight is 14.6 pounds. One of the most disappointing parts is how the paper is handled. The main source is a 100-sheet tray at the bottom of the chassis, with a tiny tray inside for loading up to 20 sheets of premium photo paper. The output tray can only handle 50 sheets of plain paper. For their consumer-grade printers, Epson no longer publishes the maximum monthly duty cycle and suggested monthly print output. The duty cycle for printers in this class is typically 1,000 to 2,000 pages per month. It’s also worth noting that none of these machines, including the XP-6000, have automatic document feeders (ADFs), which are used to scan and copy two-sided documents. To put it another way, you’ll have to manually scan each side of a two-sided original. A small, tilting control panel that spans the front of the chassis can be used to control the system. It has Power, Home, Back, display navigation, and copy control keys, as well as a 2.4-inch non-touch color screen as its centerpiece. A larger touch screen would be preferable, but this one suffices. I should also highlight that the XP-6000 comes with a tray and software for labeling and producing jewel case inserts for properly surfaced CDs and DVDs.
